Episode #13 – What the Tech is Happening in Menopause with Dr. Pamela Peeke

In today’s episode, we’re having a discussion around personal health, menopause, and the latest medical technology in this field. When it comes to their own health, women have a large knowledge gap about their own biological processes. Women need to know the basics about nutrition and physical activity and how it directly affects their entire journey through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

Our guest today is Dr. Pamela Peeke, a nationally renowned physician, scientist, expert and thought leader in the fields of integrative and preventive medicine. Dr. Peeke is a Pew Foundation Scholar in Nutrition and Metabolism, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland, holds dual master’s degrees in public health and policy, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Peeke guides us through a basic understanding of menopause, explaining some of the symptoms and struggles you may have going through this, like how it affects women in the workplace. She also introduces us to the latest technology that helps women manage their menopausal processes, like the Embr Wave. This generation of women entering menopause grew up in an age of great technological advancements. They’re used to searching for additional knowledge and finding new treatments that may help them.

Advancements in medical technology are moving forward by the day, and more and more people are taking the initiative to learn more about what they could do to improve their health.
